Dele Alli, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, Uefa Champions League

Dele Alli was absent from the showpiece in Real Madrid vs Tottenham Hotspur game at Santiago Bernabeu and still Spurs managed to pull a 1-1 draw. Tottenham have had his wonder kid back in playing XI at Wembley after serving suspension and he become difference between the both teams.

Alli braces himself to outplay the European reigning champion 3-1 at Wembley. It helped Spurs to qualify for the next stage with two game remaining and gives them an edge to qualify as Group H winners.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side was better than Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid on the night and North Londoners are a real threat to the teams facing them in later stages. Dele Alli, the next big thing showing his supreme talent dismantles the European giants with a double before Christian Eriksen made it 3-0, only for Cristiano Ronaldo to find the consolation goal in 80th minute.

Harry Kane wasn’t on the scoresheet yet again, but Dele Alli makes amend with his two goals. He scored in 27th minute capitalizing on Kieran Trippier’s volleyed low cross which beats Casilla and Alli only needed to bundle it in from close range. However, Real Madrid was furious because Trippier was offside when the ball played to him from Harry Winks.

Alli finds the net again in 56th minute for his double of the night and Real has nothing to complain about it. It was a sweet dummy from Eriksen to find Alli who beat Casemiro twice before finally allowing himself room to finish the things off. His 20 yard strike takes a deflection of Ramos to beat Casilla and gave Tottenham 2-0 lead.

Real Madrid needed something special from their special players, but their misery continues to bother them. Just when Real Madrid thought they are in the game, Eriksen increases their pressure whipping past Casilla for Tottenham’s third of the night.

Marcelo, Real Madrid’s left back tries his best to find a consolation for his team. He tucked a ball in six yard box after receiving a cross from right only for Luka Modric to handball, but it got ignored by referee and Ronaldo does his work neatly in the box. It gave a lifeline for the European champion but it was too late to overcome 3-1 deficit.

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed their success over the 12 time European champions with four points from both home and away fixtures, whereas Real Madrid still has work to do to qualify to the next stage. In another Group H fixture Borussia Dortmund failed to beat Apoel Nicosia playing a 1-1 draw and it ends their hope to qualify for the next stage.
