Juventus have only conceded twice in 11 games played in Uefa Champions League this season, and their defensive wall once again proved decisive as they secured 2-0 away victory against Monaco in Uefa Champions League semifinal first leg. It almost secured the Champions League final berth for the Bianconeri, because there is little chance of Monegasques to turn the tie in Turin next Tuesday.
Gonzalo Higuain who has a modest month in April, added a brace to his account to open the account in May. Brazilian right back Dani Alaves is still not tired of feeding Argentines; after assisting Lionel Messi for eight years at Barcelona, now he is happy to serve Gonzalo Higuain at Juventus. Higuain’s first came from Alaves back-heel pass, and then his second came from Alaves cross from the right.
“One foot in the final” ?

Monaco have had their chances in the game, but once again Gigi Buffon was solid at back. He made some good saves from Kylian Mbappe and Radamel Falcao’s effort, and managed his defensive wall very well.
Leonardo Jardimm’s inexperienced team may have done better of Manchester City & Borussia Dortmund, but Juventus is a hard nut to crack. Bianconeri returns to home with two away goal advantage. No team has ever surpassed the two-goal deficit at semifinal stage, and to do it against Juventus, Principality Club will need a miracle next week.
On the other hand, Real Madrid have also put their foot in the final as they registered a 3-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in their first leg tie at Santiago Bernabeu, thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick. Atletico’s inferiority against their city rivals has kept them away from European glory in last three seasons, and it seems once again Los Blancos have ended their dream of lifting the Europe’s elite trophy.
It will be mesmerizing to see, how the world’s best attacking side play against the best defence, if Real Madrid and Juventus reaches final. Although, Juve outsmart Real when they last met at semifinal stage in 2014/15, it will be interesting to see them in final.
