Zinedine Zidane enjoyed a great start as Real Madrid coach winning back to back Uefa Champions League, Club World Cup and La Liga last season. Former French midfielder and Real Madrid player convinced everyone with his squad rotation and using fringe players to win titles in first two seasons, but he is having a trouble time in this new season.

Real Madrid is 19 points behind leader Barcelona after 20 match days in Spanish top division (La Liga). It makes clear that defending champion won’t defend their title this season. They are out of Copa del Rey as well after losing 2-1 in quarterfinals return leg on Wednesday night at Santiago Bernabeu, whereas Barcelona marched ahead with their 2-1 aggregate win over Espanyol.

It left Zidane and his company to fight only for the Europe’s elite trophy. Real Madrid will face PSG in their last 16 tie, and first leg will take place on 14th February at Santiago Bernabeu and return leg will be at Parc des Princes on 6th March. Zidane’s future will depend on both of these fixtures and he knows his situation better than everyone else.

After losing out against Leganes in Copa del Rey, Zidane admits that his future depend on PSG’s clash in Uefa Champions League. He said as Metro reports, “Yes, that’s clear. I’m responsible for this, I’m the boss. I have to find the solutions. We’ve found some of them but not consistently enough. I need to take responsibility and I’ll always fight.”

Speaking about defeat he said, “It’s a fiasco. My worst moment as a coach. I don’t regret anything I did in the game , though, I take responsibility for what I do. To start this tie in the manner we did it’s really bad. For that I’m angry. I don’t understand what’s going on.”

Real Madrid’s top player Cristiano Ronaldo sends encouraging message in this trouble time for his teammates and fans. He writes in his twitter message, “More courage team. Courage Madridistas. We still have many battles to win.”

Real Madrid is the most successful team in Europe with their twelve European trophy and if they win it third time in a row, Zidane may save his job. It’s a trouble time for Madrid and Zidane, and his future depend on the outcome of last 16 tie against PSG.
