Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil wants pay parity with Paul Pogba

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez & Mesut Ozil wants pay parity with Premier League highest earning player Paul Pogba, as Evening Standard reported on their website. It’s not a bizarre demand from the Gunners duo, keeping in mind they are the backbone of Arsenal current squad. Gunners are performing at highest level despite the key members of squad are injured, because the duo has really shined this season. Whereas former Barcelona man – Sanchez is premier league top scorer, Ozil is simply assist king. Both have performed better than Manchester United 89.3 million newly hired midfielder Paul Pogba, who is earning 290,000k every week.

Football is a competitive game, and players love to compete against each other, if they found themselves on the same level. Ozil and Sanchez can go anywhere and earn the whooping sum of money that Pogba is getting paid, but they are earning half of Pogba wages at Arsenal, putting more or less same effort. Ozil earns £140,000K thousand per week, whereas Sanchez earns even lesser £130,000K thousand per week at Arsenal. Well, it’s unfair to compare about someone’s wages at the club, because they have different contracts and they are getting paid accordingly. But, consider the data & facts, one can easily say they are exploited at Arsenal, and they have every right to negotiate with the Arsenal management about their wages.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is very firm on his approach of management. According to him, old saying goes, no individual should earn more than the manager and his £8million per season wage equates to £160,000-a-week. And, if you take it seriously, top clubs would have never been able to hire Messi, Ronaldo or Pogba.

But, now Arsenal is very much concerned about losing both stars in upcoming transfer window, as their contract renewal is getting extended due to their pay parity demands. Gunners have indicated they are prepared to offer a wage close to £200,000-a-week but that is unlikely to satisfy either player, especially with Manchester City and Juventus among a host of clubs closely monitoring their respective situations. Their current contract expires in 2018, and the clubs monitoring the duo situation will definitely be ready to offer the sum duo demands in their wages. There is no issue of money with Manchester United, Manchester City, or PSG, and they will definitely make their moves if Mr. Wenger would be firm on his decision not to offer more than £200,000K wages. Whereas Manchester United trio already earns more than 250,000K per week. Pogba earns £290,000K, whereas club captain Wayne Rooney earns £260,000K, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic earns £250,000K.

Arsene Wenger appealed his players to consider other things as well, rather than only going for financial leverage. He said,“I would like to say the luxury of the modern game should be it’s not only about the money, because the players make anyway wherever they play good money at this level. I believe, personally… maybe I am a bit naïve, but it’s more about getting to meet the players’ needs. That’s about the way the club has values, the way the club has ambition, the way the club respects the players. So I think, for me, that is more important nowadays and an important ingredient for every player to consider. The money is good everywhere for everybody.”

The only thing 20 year at Arsenal helm boss missing is that the things he said do have its importance, but financial package is also important now-a-days to compare himself with other players at the same level. And, the kind of club values, he is talking about it goes up & down with the performance of the club, and performances depends on players. And, the clubs which are keeping an eye on Arsenal duo holds the same respect as Arsenal, and even bigger values in terms of their performances and trophies earned in recent past.

Couple of months ago Alexis Sanchez has already given a statement, “I have reached a level where I can compete with great players. I do not feel inferior to anybody. I liken [my qualities] to Messi and Ronaldo. I have the same abilities as them.”

Considering Sanchez statement, he is not going to negotiate any lower than the premier league highest earners. Because with whom he is comparing himself, they already earns more than £350,000K per week.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will play FC Basel tonight, and will make sure they earn a victory for themselves, and hope PSG loses or play draw against Ludogorets at home. It will help Arsenal secure top berth in Group A, they haven’t been able to top their group in last five attempts, although this finishing at top of group doesn’t guarantee to get an easier tie in top 16, because teams like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid may finish 2nd in their group.

And, good thing for them is Arsenal fans also support them. On social media sites they have already started questioning about Wenger’s methodology to pay the big stars, and their comments says they don’t bother even Gunners have to pay £300,000K to the duo, because they deserve it.
