France Football revealed all the 30 nominees for Ballon d’or 2017 on Monday. There are stars from Premier League, Laliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga, who will compete for the prestigious Ballon d’or award. Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is looking to grab the prestigious trophy for the fifth time to level himself with five time winner Lionel Messi.



Cristiano Ronaldo ( four Ballon d’or) and Lionel Messi (Five Ballon d’or) have dominated the prestigious award podium for last nine years. Ronaldo is favourite to win the prestigious award this year as well to make the score even between him and Messi. It will also extend their ruling at top to a decade.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi did win the ‘Pichachi Award’ in Laliga with his 37 goal last season, but it was Real’s Ronaldo who win the major silverware. Los Blancos won Laliga and retain Uefa Champions League title to put forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s name for the Ballon d’or and FIFA’s ‘The Best Player’ award.

There are other players in the 30 nominees list who did well for their clubs. In forward list Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Harry Kane, Edin Dzeko, Radamel Falcao,Antoine Griezmann, Edinson Cavani, Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema finds his place.

Paulo Dybala, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Philippe Coutinho, Dries Mertens, Luka Modric, Kevin De Bruyne, Toni Kroos, Isco, Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante, and Sadio Mane earned their name as playmaker, where as Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Mats Hummels, and Leonardo Bonucci earned their name as key defenders. Gianluigi Buffon, David De Gea and Jan Oblak finds their place as marvelous goalkeeper in top 30 nominees as well.

Laliga lead the stars count for the Ballon d’or 2017 with (11) nominees, whereas Premier League boasts of (7) nominees, Serie A (5) nominees, Ligue 1 (4) and Bundesliga (3). On club count, 11 time Uefa Champions League winner Real Madrid lead the pack with seven nominations.
