Lionel Messi contract renegotiation at Barcelona is the one fans around the world are talking about, but it seems they will have to wait for the good news. Till that time, fans can enjoy the little magician new deal with boot-maker Adidas. La Pulga signed a new deal with Adidas, and he shared the good news with his fans on his official Facebook page.

Although, Barcelona star didn’t reveal any details, but it is expected five time Ballon d’or winner has extended his contract for the life time. It may not be an unusual deal, even if it comes true, because Adidas would love to follow on the suit of Nike. Nike has already sealed a life time deal with Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who is also a long time competitor of Messi. Nike & Adidas, two of the world’s biggest sports brand are going head to head to seal the deal of two of the best footballers on the planet. Although, Messi current team Barcelona also uses the sponsored kit of Nike, but Messi personally wear Adidas shoe.

It’s Argentine’s first deal of 2017, but it expected he will be signing new deal with Barcelona soon. Messi’s father Jorge Messi is in Barcelona as Sports report, and hopefully we will have good news soon. Messi’s contract renegotiation talk at Barcelona is going from an year, but Argentinian is not ready to pen down a new deal.

Messi current deal at Barcelona ends in June 2018, and there is only two transfer windows left before Argentine will be free to walk away from Camp Nou. It will be Barcelona management team failure, if La Pulga will walk away from Camp Nou without Barcelona securing at least €200m in revenue selling him out. Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu has tried to convince Messi, offering him a contract of life time and making him world’s best paid player, but Messi is reluctant to renew his contract.

However, wages are not a concern, neither for the club, nor for Messi. It’s the quality of the team, and pursuit of silverware, which is halting Messi’s contract renegotiation progress. Messi is not happy with current Barcelona squad, and he is not liking club too much dependence on a single player. He wants world’s best playing XI at Barcelona, but Xavi departure from midfield had a created a hole in Barcelona midfield. Two high profile signings, Ivan Rakitic & Andre Gomes have failed to do the justice to fill in the boots of Xavi Hernandez. Barcelona is relying too much on Messi’s creativity dropping deeper, and helping out team midfield dynamics. It constantly put pressure on Messi to think his future is somewhere else, and rumours are Manchester City is the likely destination for the Argentinian talisman.
