Chelsea become the new champion of Premier League on Friday night as they traveled to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion. Mitchy Batshuayi become the unlikely hero to score the late goal for the Blues after coming from the bench, and Chelsea continues the trend that team in blue reigns the Premier League.

Manchester City did in 2013/14 season, Chelsea did in 2014/15, Leicester City did in 2015/16, and Chelsea once again did it in 2016/17 season to make sure that Blues reign continues. It’s fifth Premier League title for the Stamford Bridge team, and they have proved they are the best Premier League team of the last decade.

Chelsea is only second to Manchester United in terms of Premier League title won by the clubs. Manchester United have 13 titles to their name since 1992, then Chelsea also have five titles to their name. They won it in 2004/05, 2005/06, 2009/10, 2014/15 and now in 2016/17 season as well.

A season, which boasts that world’s best managers are managing the Premier League teams, Antonio Conte become the unlikely hero with more or less the same team which finished 10th last season. The only difference between last season team and this season team came in two defenders and a midfielder and a forward who rarely used in the playing XI.

N’Golo Kante, the PFA Player of the Year wins the second consecutive Premier League title as he left last season title winner Leicester to join Chelsea at the end of the season. Marco Alonso & David Luiz also joins the team to make a difference with Conte’s three at back formation, but the player who won them the league is former Marseille man Michy Batshuayi.

The big names of Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, and Jurgen Klopp continue to fight for their Champions League place, along with the veteran Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger. And, Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino once again failed to lead his team to top, although he’ll remembered for leading his team above the North London rival Arsenal.

Spurs chased last season Leicester and failed to finish even second as Arsenal spotted themselves at second in the end. This season Spurs had the golden opportunity to chase their first Premier League title, but Antonio Conte’s winning formula of three at back since November weaved the magic, and Pochettino have to be satisfied with the glory of finishing above Gunners.

Meanwhile, the team in blue is reigning in Premier League, and this trend may continue if Guardiola finds his winning formula with Man City next season. It’s already four season in a row, and the team in Reds are still far away from the winning the league.
