Cristiano Ronaldo is not eager to renew his contract with Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo extended his contract with Real Madrid last November to serve for the club till June 2021. It includes annual compensation from salary and bonuses to €50 million a year before taxes, but with Neymar movement to Paris Saint-Germain and burgeoning speculation of Messi’s new improved deal, there is expectation that CR7 will ask the club to renew his contract.

In Nov last year, Ronaldo said, “Who knows what the future holds. Of course, I would like to end my career at this club. This is my penultimate contract. I want to be here for many years to come. I’m overjoyed.” But, since then things have changed for the “FIFA’s The Best Men’s Player”, and he is not eager to renew his contract with the club.

Mundo Deportivo reports as Ronaldo told beIN Sports, “I’m very good at Real Madrid. I have four years of contract, I do not want to renew. I’m fine.” Adding to his remarks on Real Madrid recent slump, the Portuguese star added, “It is bad because we lose and are used to winning. It is a streak. It’s not like we wanted, but football changes. It’s a bad patch, but we want to change and I’m sure we’re going to change. We still have a lot of time to improve and I am convinced that we are going to do it.”

Ronaldo knows it’s not the right time to talk about his contract. Real Madrid is not going through the purple patch, although CR7 is flourishing in his career winning all the individual awards at the age of 32. And he would love to have a contract which will pay him more than what PSG is paying Nyman and Lionel Messi is going to be paid at Barcelona with his new contract.
