Real Madrid misery continues as they failed to capitalize on Barcelona’s slipped points

Real Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, La Liga, Barcelona

Barcelona played two consecutive draws against Valencia and Celta de Vigo in order to lose four points, but Real Madrid failed to capitalize on Blaugranas slipped points. Real was up against Athletic Bilbao in San Mames for three points, but they only walk away with a point playing a dull 0-0 draw.

Karim Benzema had the first chance of the match from an Isco’s cross but Frenchman hits the post from his weak left foot attempt. Cristiano Ronaldo tries to score his third goal of the season from a long range effort but it was wide enough to not cause any threat to the Athletic club.

Meanwhile, Aritz Aduriz had a glorious opportunity to give Athletic lead from his headed effort but it was saved at the centre of the goal. Ronaldo has another effort saved from outside of the box from a Marcelo’s cross.

There was opportunity for both teams to go on the scoresheet in first-half but they failed to make the most of their chances. Aritz Aduriz and Inaki Williams were the culprit for Athletic Club’s failed attempt, whereas Ronaldo, Marcelo, Toni Kroos and Raphael Varane failed to capitalize on Real Madrid’s half chances.

Sergio Ramos shows some bravery as he took off his face mask to score from a corner opportunity, but Real defender failed to rescue his team this time. He also earned himself a red card to end his chances to play in next week game against Sevilla.

It was the stale second-half as it was first-half. Both side failed to convert their scoring opportunities into a goal and it ended a 0-0 draw. Los Blancos played two consecutive 0-0 draw with the result as they played 0-0 draw in Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid last week.

Both of the La Liga giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona played two consecutive draws. Barcelona could have suffered a huge blow if Madrid have enjoyed the all six points and they have had only walked away with two points. Both results for the both team failed to twist the La Liga points table, and Barcelona continues to enjoy their helm at top of the table with 36 points.
